NATALIE GRANT VISITS CAPITOL HILL AND PERFORMS AT 2008 GRAMMY SALUTE TO GOSPEL MUSIC

WASHINGTON, D.C.— Curb recording artist and GMA’s three-time reigning Female Vocalist of the Year, Natalie Grant, made a slate of appearances this week in the nation’s capital. Prior to performing a tribute to Sandi Patty at the 2008 Grammy Salute To Gospel Music at The Lincoln Theatre, Grant visited Capitol Hill.

At a brunch event earlier this week, she thanked members of Congress for their support of legislation pertaining to the Christian music community and praised the newly announced “Gospel Music Heritage Month” initiative honoring the genre’s contributions to American culture.

On Wednesday night, Grant appeared at The Recording Academy’s 2008 Grammy Salute to Gospel Music. She performed the Sandi Patty classic, “Love In Any Language,” in tribute to the Christian music icon, who received The Recording Academy President's Merit Award.

Grant also had the opportunity to meet with Senator Orrin Hatch of Utah. In addition to their shared commitment to the eradication of human trafficking, Hatch co-wrote Grant’s first Top 10 hit, “I Am Not Alone,” which is featured on her 1999 self-titled debut.

In April, Grant became the first artist in 13 years to win the GMA Dove Award for Female Vocalist of the Year three consecutive times. Her critically-acclaimed best-selling seventh recording, Relentless, released in February and features the multi-format hit “In Better Hands,” as well as her current hit single, “I Will Not Be Moved.” This summer Grant is appearing at Women of Faith conferences around the country, including upcoming events in New York City, Boston and Seattle.
